🎨 Discover the St. Thomas-Elgin Public Art Centre: A Hub of Artistic Inspiration

Located in the heart of downtown St. Thomas, the St. Thomas-Elgin Public Art Centre (STEPAC) has been the region's premier visual arts destination since 1969. Housing a permanent collection of over 1,900 regional and national artworks, STEPAC features constantly rotating exhibitions, hands-on educational programming, and a local artisan gift shop—all with free admission for all visitors.

🖼️ What to Experience at STEPAC

Rotating Gallery Exhibitions
STEPAC’s main galleries showcase a dynamic calendar of contemporary and historical art exhibitions throughout the year (around 16 annually). Featuring local Elgin County artists alongside acclaimed Canadian creators, there is always something new to see on every visit.

Permanent Art Collection
The Art Centre preserves and exhibits a significant regional permanent collection of 700+ works spanning paintings, sculptures, prints, and drawings that celebrate the visual history and talent of Southwestern Ontario.

The Gallery Gift Shop
Looking for a unique locally made gift? The on-site gift shop features handmade pottery, original artwork, jewelry, prints, and artisan crafts created by regional makers.

Art Education & Youth Programs
​From weekend children’s art classes and March Break camps to adult workshops and artist talks, STEPAC offers hands-on creative learning opportunities for all skill levels.
