With a super successful 2013 Festival year behind them the St. Thomas Tom Zombie Festival Organizing Committee is gearing up for its annual vanguard event, the St. Thomas Tom Zombie Prom! Already boasting an impressive list of Sponsors including The St. Thomas EDC, The St. Thomas DDB, The local Chamber of Commerce and Legends Tavern, to name a few, the Tom Zombie Prom will have a “live” living dead band (Colbalt 27), creepy foods from a great local cater, (James Meadows), a fantastic and fun local DJ (A&M Sounds) and of course a King and Queen competition to get a special role at the Festival in September as well as an opportunity to meet The AMC Walking Dead special guest (yet to be revealed). Bryan Bakker, Chairperson of the St. Thomas Tom Zombie Festival Organizing Committee said this, “This years’ Prom is going to be extra special. In addition to everything you’d expect at a Zombie Prom there will be additions you can only see here: The 2012 Tom Zombie, John Migliore, will be in attendance a man who has been in over 25 zombie movies, as well as our contest winner, the 2013 Tom Zombie, Melanie Matthews. Plus a brand new Master of Transition, “The Ringmaster” who will be making his debut appearance. We’ll also have help from the Theatre Guild who be on station as professional zombies banging on doors and windows, not to mention and a few surprises that you’ll have to attend to be part of.” Bakker has big plans for the Tom Zombie Festival over the course of the year including the Tom Zombie Run for your Life, Tom Zombie Flash Mobs all summer long, historical unveilings outlining some amazing history the Legend of Tom Zombie is speculated to have a part in, right up to festival day itself on September 27th. “This festival is about bringing new people, new money and new energy into St. Thomas and surrounding areas and the Tom Zombie Prom is where it all gets started,” said Bakker. “Make sure to buy your tickets ahead of time to get a break on the price.
