Step into Waterworks Park, the city’s first publicly owned park, developed in the early 1900s around a water treatment plant. Once a willow swamp, it became a tranquil water garden by 1932 and retains that spirit today.

Spanning 25 acres (10 hectares), the park features winding paths, arched bridges, and tiny islands. Calm ponds host turtles, goldfish, and water lilies, while 5,000+ annuals and shrubs create seasonal displays.

Birdwatchers can spot Kingfishers, Ospreys, Blue Herons, and Red-tailed Hawks. The north end holds the Unity Peace Labyrinth for reflection, and the east hilltop trail offers panoramic views of Kettle Creek valley, the dam, and reservoir.

Families enjoy the south end’s playground, splash pad, nature trails, and winter ski paths, making it a year-round destination.
