Art Village

Just the facts
Main strip:  Talbot Street
Founded: 1800s
Architecture: Victorian storefront
Neighborhood giant: Public Art Centre
Best Place to grab a bite: Lotus Thai
Where to mingle with locals: Grand Central mall

The vibe
A hub for the creatives out there, the Art Village is centered around the Public Art Centre where small businesses pop up echoing that creative feel. Time-worn Victorian storefronts dot the streetscape and efforts for renewal and new ideas are abundant! Designated properties, like the Southern Loan building, are still standing and are a testament to creative craftsmanship.

Here is an image of an art exhibit at the St. Thomas Public Art Gallery. In the centre is an image of a crescent moon. The moon has an eye brow, eye, nose and mouth. Behind the moon are cloud bigures and in front are glass ornaments with photos inside.
