Athletic & Cowan Park in St. Thomas

95 St. George Street  •  St. Thomas, Ontario  •  N5P 2L4
⚽ A Historic Valley Sanctuary for Sports & Outdoor Recreation

Tucked in the low-lying Kettle Creek valley just west of downtown St. Thomas, Athletic Park is a storied green space with deep roots in local recreation. Once known as "Mill Pond" before being gifted for public use by local sportsman W.K. Cameron, this tranquil valley park has hosted everything from Cadets and outdoor amphitheatres to local tennis and football. Today, Athletic Park serves as a vibrant home for St. Thomas youth and adult soccer, featuring well-maintained sports fields set against the picturesque backdrop of the historic Wabash railway trestle.

A brand-new asphalt pathway weaves down the hill from Hiawatha Street, offering an enchanting, sunlit walk into the park at dusk. Just steps away at 125 St. George Street sits sister-site Cowan Park, completing the valley complex with a fun family playground, shaded picnic pavilion, basketball courts, and open green space. Together, they offer a perfect mix of active sports and peaceful valley escape.
