Summer is finally arriving in the Railway city, and with it comes the classic Southwestern Ontario Scorchers. Not to fear- St. Thomas has a great location for you and your family to keep cool all summer long. Jaycees Pool has been a go-to spot for St. Thomas locals since it first opened in 1970, bringing over 50 years of swimming in St. T, new events and memories brought each season. This year is no exception, with a schedule packed with lessons, special events and more!

Jaycees first opens this year on July 1st, featuring a free swim for all ages from 12:30 to 5:30, freezies and raffle prizes, a great way to start summer and celebrate Canada Day!

For those who are interested in swim lessons, Jaycees offers lessons for all ages, from toddlers to adults, with additional options of semi-private and private lessons. Swimming is an important skill, not just for recreational means, but also for safety and survival. It’s never too late to learn!

For those who can’t get enough of swimming, Jaycees offers leisure, lane and public swims throughout the summer. One of their most popular services is Aquafit, a program for older swimmers that promotes fitness through fun and low-impact activity. Their first free class is offered on July 2nd from 4:00pm to 5:30pm, giving the chance for anyone interested to try it out! Afterwards, morning and evening classes are offered throughout the week, each costing $5, or $35 for 10 classes. No registration prior is required, just drop in when you can!

Having a birthday in July or August? Want to celebrate a special occasion with friends? Why not host it at the coolest venue in town! Jaycees offers pool rentals on weekends, with rates of $80 for up to 30 swimmers, with costs of $25.58 per additional swimmer.

Your furry friend also needs to beat the heat! Jaycees is proud to offer a great way for you and your pup to finish off the swimming season. On August 27th, join Jaycees for their pooch plunge! For $5 a dog, man’s best friend can have the time of their life! Small dogs (30 lbs and under) have swim time from 12:30 pm to 2pm, and larger dogs (30lbs and over) are scheduled for 2:15 to 4:00pm.
