Geocaching is an outdoor treasure-hunting game, where you can use GPS devices (including mobile apps, such as GoogleMaps) to navigate to specific coordinates (the format for entering coordinates into the Google Maps app is [ex.] 42 46.665 -81 12.866.) There are also sometimes hints provided, which you can uncover using the decryption key. Once at the location, search the area to find the geocache, which will be a container of any size. A rule of geocaching is to not let other people see you searching, so make sure you are sneaky. Inside the geocache container will be a log sheet, which you can sign (bring a pen.) There also may be items within the geocache, and, if you leave an item behind, you can take one of them. Make sure to leave the geocache where you found it for others to play. We have gathered the locations of some local geocaches for which you can search using your GPS, or you can use the geocaching website/app to view these and many more caches in the region. Decode the hints using the decryption key, found on the map below, and check out www.geocaching.com for more information on the game. Otherwise, happy hunting! 1) Elgin Trail
