The arts scene in St. Thomas is constantly expanding. Through events like the Railway City Arts Crawl, spaces like STEPAC and the many studios in the city we see increased exposure to a variety of visual art styles and a growing awareness in our community about this thriving population. We also have a growing music scene and may opportunities to get out and listen to local and visiting artists and we want to share a *few* ways to stay on top of ways to take in the sounds of St. Thomas this summer! Downtown Tracks is back and better than ever for 2018 on July 7 & August 4! Join in with artists starting from 3-5pm at the L&PS Station, 605 Talbot Street, St. Thomas. Railway City Tourism along with the Small Business Enterprise Centre is thrilled to offer a series that aims to provide local up-and-coming performers with a venue to display their talent, while filling downtown St. Thomas with excellent sounds at no cost to the public (unless you want to show the artists some monetary appreciation!). Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and take in the local music scene Downtown this summer! Keep an eye on St. Thomas Music for upcoming local shows. They are currently planning a summer series at Streamliners Espresso Bar. The next event is June 21! Recently, we were introduced to Firebox Sessions. These sessions are aimed at featuring artists with local ties in interesting locations around the city. Take a look at their Facebook page for the first video feature and follow along for announcements as more pop ups hit the road! It's a fun way to discover new artists and #explorerailwaycity!
As always, keep an eye on our events page and if you have an upcoming music event in the city we want to hear about it and add it to our calendar! Happy new music discovering this summer in St. Thomas.
