Saturday, August 16, 2014 10 Locations, 4 hours, and a series of skill testing riddles: The Amazing Adventure comes to St Thomas. The St Thomas based race takes you from location to location pitted against teams all competing for the grand prize. Each location earns you another clue to the next ensuring a puzzling and fun day. Complete the race and return back to Pinafore Park to be entered to win the prize. Back at the park there will also be a BBQ lunch, beer garden, & vendor displays from the Home Based Business Association! The race is in memory of Kym Hanenburg-Witkowski, a cystic fibrosis patient who sadly lost her battle with cancer earlier this year. Cystic fibrosis is the most common and fatal genetic disease affecting young Canadians with no current cure. The event is to raise funds for CF in Kym's honour and is hosted by the St Thomas Kinsmen with hope that one day a cure can be found. Registration will be day of the event from 9am to 10am, the race will take approximately 3-4 hours with the live music in the park will taking place from noon until 10pm – admission is free but donations towards the cause are strongly encouraged! This sounds like SO much fun. You are doing a fantastic job at coming up with something so creative and awesome for the residents of St. Thomas, Elgin County, and surrounding area Railway City Tourism! Keep up the good work :o)
