Canada's birthday is coming up JULY 1st (in case you forgot!) and in celebration of that, we thought we'd dig a little into what makes this country so special.

10 Weird and Wonderful Facts about Canada
  1. The CN Tower in Toronto was the world’s tallest free standing structure until 2007
  2. Canada has the world's smallest jail in Rodney Ontario at 24.3 square metres
  3. There is a secret underground / world's deepest laboratory in Sudbury called Snolab
  4. We speak on behalf of Santa Claus; use the postal code H0H 0H0 and get a letter back
  5. Canada is the garter snake capital of the world
  6. Between 1984 and 2008 it was illegal to sell pop cans in PEI, all carbonated drinks had to be sold in glass bottles
  7. The world's first UFO landing pad was built in 1967 in St. Paul Alberta
  8. The longest beaver dam in the world was found in north Alberta at 850 metres
  9. 15,500 of the 25,000 polar bears in existence live in Canada
