New year, new you, new things to do in sunny St. Thomas! Maybe your resolution is to pick up a new hobby, or to get outside more, or to try something new. No matter what it is, you’re in the right place - right here in the Railway City! 1. Try A New Pizza JointTake a trip on our St. Thomas Pizza Trail! With arguably the most pizza per capita in the entire world, we can almost guarantee that you haven't had it all yet! From local staples such as Al’s Pizzeria or Chef Bondi’s and new gems like Red Swan or Railway City Brewing, make it a personal goal to hit a few different locations this year. You never know, you might just find your new favourite! 2. Hobbies! After a long day’s work, there’s nothing better that taking leisure in an activity that you enjoy! Studies show that taking up a hobby improves your life drastically, from aiding sleep to relieving stress and depression, it’s a worthwhile investment of your time. Don’t know where to start? No worries, the great thing about hobbies is that they’re really whatever catches YOUR interest! Wanting to learn knitting or crocheting? Little Red Mitten! Looking for collectables? Fan of the Sport or Dark Matter! Calligraphy, crafts, knitting, and art? The Craft Hive! Model trains? The aptly named Railway City Hobbies of course! Whatever it is, get out there and lobby a hobby! 3. Health and Wellness Eating healthier as well as exercising more frequently hand-in-hand consistently end up topping the resolutions list of two thirds of Canadians, so what better time than now to start? Just within the last year, the number of Health and Wellness businesses within St. Thomas have absolutely exploded! Apart from the YMCA and St. Thomas Health Club, we have plenty of smaller gyms established such as F45 Training, Women’s Total Fitness, and Tru For U. Shop around and find the right fit for you to get fit! If gyms aren't your thing, there are kilometres of paved trails around the city with many maintained year-round (including winter!) that offer excellent opportunities for outdoor activity and exercise.
